Why packaging box price effect by quantity a lot?

As we know, custom packaging order price with large quantity less unit price.

But most of us are non-accept small qty expensive price.

When got quotation which price is out of budget,

the first question is WHY???

In order to learn WHY, we should learn custom packaging order process first.

Here the process for one order, no matter 100pcs or 1000pcs, process are the same:

1, booking material

2, printing

3, make lamination

4, prepare mould

5, die-cut to piece by piece

6, folding or glue my handwork or machine

7,packing

There are at least 7 process for one order finish.

Each process with Fixed-Cost, such as printing fixed cost is USD50, mould charge cost is USD20.

Fixed-Cost with base on too.

Below form for lip glossy packaging box broke charge, size in 23x23x112mm H

From below form charge, you know total cost for 100pcs and 1000pcs is not much different.

But when in share to unit, 100pcs is much higher than 1000pcs.

This charge is for simple lip glossy packaging box cost only.

If order more complex such as folding gift box, jewelry gift box, magnetic box, need more mould for process to finish order.

Will effect small quantity UNIT price far from standard quantity price to.
